Mesh Generation

Mesh Generation creates a reconstructed mesh from dense point cloud data. It is intended for reference geometry, proxy surfaces, and VFX layout rather than replacing final modeling in every shot.

Workflow steps

  1. Run Heavy Tracking.
  2. Enable undistortion and dense point cloud generation.
  3. Inspect the dense result for quality.
  4. Choose a mesh quality preset: Low, Medium, High, or Ultra.
  5. Generate and import the mesh into Blender.

Important details

Mesh quality depends directly on dense point cloud quality. If the dense reconstruction is noisy or incomplete, improve tracking, masks, or source footage first.

Higher mesh quality can increase detail, but it also increases processing time and may include reconstruction, refinement, decimation, subdivision, curvature, texture patch, and texturing phases.
